Biography

My photo
I graduated from BYU-I with my Bachelor's in Integrated Studio Arts with a custom clustered minor in Dance and Health Science. I met my husband my senior year of college and fell hard pretty fast (which is very unlike me). We got married May 12, 2012. Moved to Kansas in 2013, and had our son Liam 2014.

Fashion

Yellow Silk Dress
I never have really worked with silk. So this was an experiment.
The top on this dress turned out very baggy, but it's not too bad, the waste band keeps it flattering.

Instead of doing a straight skirt, next time I need to cut more of
an A-Line, would be more flattering on the hips. I tried to taper it out after
cutting it but only had so much fabric to work with.

The ruffles are a little lop-sided so I am going to add
flowers to the one side.
The puff sleeves worked great for this, I would've added
more material to the ruffle to make it bunch more even.

HALLOWEEN COSTUMES 2012

Scott and I dressed up as Buttercup and Wesley from The Princess Bride for Halloween. We tried finding costumes at the "costume store", apparently they only carried a wide selection of prostitute attire. And each costume cost about 40-90 bucks. No thank you. So I decided to make my own costume, but fabric is even more expensive. Thank goodness there are these things called thrift stores. I found a tablecloth and a very cheep thin curtain for about 4 dollars total and made a dress from that.

We also found some black fabric (old skirt cut up), a black pair of pants and a black shirt for Scott. I think we spent about 10 dollars or a little more on his getup. So there you have it! Two great costumes for less than 20 bucks.
